Printer Friendly

Printing any page of the NygrenLearning website now produces a 'printer friendly' version of the page. There is a 'Print This Page' button on the left side for the user's convenience, but the same printer friendly version is produced when you use your browser's 'Print' function.

Favicons

They're everywhere! Short for 'Favorite Icon', they are the little images (icons) that appear in your bookmarks, in tabs, and often in the address bar, associated with a specific website. See this Wikipedia article for more details about them. If you look at your bookmarks (favorites, shortcuts), you see most sites have one. And now NygrenLearning has its own favicon, too! There is a ton of info on creating and using favicons, but most of it is just how to use any image file as your icon. If you want to create a proper, multiple image icon (.ICO) file that supports transparency, it takes some real digging.

Look at the NygrenLearning website, and you will see that I succeeded. If you want to learn how I did it, just leave a comment or shoot me an email.

Survey: How important do you think it is to use the .ICO format for your website favicons?

Tutorials are Porn? Really?!!

I just tried to open a page on the NygrenLearning site from a public computer at my local library. It was blocked as "Child Porn"! Really?! Since when are web development tutorials considered pornographic?!!

Do you exist?!

If you do not have a 'web presence', then, to the rest of the universe, you do not exist! If you were to 'Google' your name or the name of your business or organization, what would you find? To be found, there must be something to find! You must have a web site!!

The good news: There is nothing to keep you from having your own web site by the end of today. The free tutorials at Nygren Learning will help you find a web host, and teach you what you need to know to create your web site. You can start simple, and continue to improve your site as you learn more about web page design and development.

There is nothing hard about creating your own web site. There are hosts where you can just use a template and fill in the blanks. But if you learn just a little about HTML (the language of the world wide web), you can have complete control over how your web site looks. You are not stuck with the simple templates your host provides. So create your own web presence now. Go to Nygren Learning, and learn everything you need to have complete control over your own web site!

Not Dead Yet

" ...
The Dead Body: I'm not dead.
The Dead Collector: What?
Large Man with Dead Body: Nothing. There's your ninepence.
The Dead Body: I'm not dead.
The Dead Collector: 'Ere, he says he's not dead.
Large Man with Dead Body: Yes he is.
The Dead Body: I'm not.
The Dead Collector: He isn't.
Large Man with Dead Body: Well, he will be soon, he's
very ill.
The Dead Body: I'm getting better.

We're Baaaaack!

1 year, 6 months, 12 days! That's a long period of neglect. Too long! MUCH TOO LONG!!!

My apologies. I have once again committed some time to the NygrenLearning web site, and I intend to add content soon.

I am looking for a new host for NygrenLearning. WebNG.com just doesn't cut it. I hate to have to move the site, and I certainly don't want to need to do it more than once. I have completely re-designed all the pages, and am trying them out on a few different hosts. Once I find the right one, I will announce the move. If you are interested in trying out the new site before that, leave me a comment with your email address, and I will send you links to the trial hosts.

Thank you for your interest in, and support of NygrenLearning!
